History and setting
Tollgate borders Deschutes National Forest to the north and east, the privately owned Brooks/Scanlon Logging Road to the west, and the 160-acre Trout Creek Conservation Area owned by SSD to the south. Common areas reviewed in the assessment include Lasso, Lariat, Wagon Wheel and several cul-de-sacs.
The community has 38 cul-de-sacs. The three properties selected for assessment included two-story homes dating from the 1980s and 1990, including one with a detached outbuilding adjacent to Deschutes National Forest.
